Performing arts in all shapes and forms rule at Lausanne’s avant-garde and vibrant venue at the heart of Lausanne’s former red-light district in the dried river bed of the Flon. Pronounced “arts scéniques”, the play-on-words name stands for all scenic arts and encompasses theatre, dance and music, most of it experimental: its mission is to offer a platform to up and coming artists. It’s often a toss of the coin, but for a small stipend (only CHF 13), the risk is often well worth taking. It’s also a great place to meet friends for a drink and a bite to eat.
