When Nathalie Pellon noticed that it was hard to find fabrics with a “different” look, the Swiss-French textile designer set about filling the gap. Her vibrant fabric collections, which are sold in Bernese boutique Ooonyva, are based on influences as diverse as artists including Frida Kahlo, places like Pellon’s native Lyon and topics such as the seven biblical sins. As such, the twice yearly collections play with colours and shapes that tell stories through fabric. The results are bright and exuberant without being garish. Most customers come to buy fabric by the metre to make up their own designs, but Pellon also sells beautiful silk scarves and A-line skirts that cover all sins.
