The Bite in Zurich tends to be busy. Since it opened in August 2013, it has made a name for itself among Zurich’s burger lovers as the place to go. It’s not hard to see why. It is warm and cosy, with a shabby chic ambiance made for whiling away time gorging. The restaurant revolves around the search for the “perfect burger”. Founders Kirtanya and Thomas von Mann have a taste for gourmet burgers and are constantly striving to bring good burgers to Zurich. The Bite’s burgers are slightly pricy, but all are made by hand, with some ingenious ingredient combinations – from guacamole and coriander pesto to Asiago cheese with radishes and Miso-red wine sauce. Beef burgers can be substituted with vegetarian patties. What made our visit stand out was the service: our burger was just a touch underdone, and the kitchen swiftly rectified it. Reservation is recommended.
