Open for the summer and winter seasons, this mountain chalet restaurant in the Meilleret area of Les Diablerets in the Vaud Alps is perfectly positioned for the ski slopes and hiking routes. Decked out in an alpine style (wood furniture, red and white curtains and placemats), the main restaurant serves traditionally Swiss dishes drawing on local ingredients, including large salads, fondue, dried meats, Swiss sausage and beef tartar. There’s also a self-service area ideal for skiers looking to chow down on a quick lunch before going back to the slopes. During the winter season the restaurant helps host the thrice-weekly fondue-luge evenings, when people arrive on the chair lift after dark for a fondue before heading off with a headtorch and a toboggan to sledge the 7km run down to Les Diablerets village.
