This neighbourhood Italian inspires loyalty from its customers for its reasonably priced menu of comfort food – classic pastas and pizzas which are satisfying in both flavour and size, washed down with a glass of Montepulciano and rounded off by a creamy tiramisu. The basic pastas are mix and match, so while some may consider it a travesty, you can have your carbonara with penne instead of spaghetti, or your vongole with rigatoni, if you so desire. Particularly good is the creamy saffron pasta and the ravioli, while pizzas come thin and crispy. A well-priced two course menu including wine draws regulars, especially in warm weather when you can eat it all on the decked outdoor terrace. It’s not a place to a wow a date or treat yourself, rather it’s a home from home where you’re guaranteed a decent meal when you can’t be bothered to cook one yourself.
