This music festival’s founding principle is inclusivity – musicians of all backgrounds and genres are welcomed and entry is free in order to be open to all, from families and working people to students, the unemployed and retirees. A sort of social enterprise then, hoping, in a pleasingly well-meaning way, to unite people through the universal language of music. And so far it's worked - some 50,000 have attended in the past (when it's fallen on a sunny day, that is).
In addition to the 20 or so music acts taking to the main stage from 5pm, the event includes a traditional football match in the afternoon, concerts for kids plus games, bouncy castles, face-painting and even Bollywood dance demonstrations.
