The name Blue Balls might raise questions, but the concept of the international music festival is simple: 100 concerts and talks by blues, jazz, soul, funk, world, rock and pop musicians across nine days, such as Morcheeba, Patti Smith, Laurel and Fantastic Negrito. The acts are one thing, but the setting is another. Blue Balls takes place at three locations around Lucerne’s waterfront: the Open-Air Pavilion, the KKL Luzern and the Hotel Schweizerhof. Now attracting more than 100,000 visitors, it has become one of the main events on Switzerland’s music calendar.
