This quirky boutique hotel offers rooms, suites and loft apartments and is a good choice if you are looking for light, bright accommodation. A key attraction at The Passage is the enormous beds that grace all room categories, as well as the Nespresso machines that have become practically obligatory in Swiss hotels. Regular travellers will appreciate the attention focused on practical details, such as triple glazing and free highspeed internet, while the variety of room categories and vantage points offer plenty of vistas of Basel. The hotel enjoys an on-site gym stocked with Technogym fitness machines, as well as a Finnish sauna. Other things to note are the hotel bar and patio, which offer a convenient location for a drink or coffee, although perhaps lack something in atmosphere as a result of the dedication to clean modern lines. This is a minor quibble, though, for such a cheery and chic hotel within minutes of the SBB railway station.
