Adding to the increasingly funky area around Rue Marterey near the Bessières bridge, this small wine bar opened in autumn 2014. Its two Italian owners present punters with a menu of five Swiss and five Italian wines that change monthly, cannily offering their clientele a reason to visit at least 12 times a year. At first the rather minimalist interior decor seems a bit characterless, but with little space to play with it was perhaps wise not to over-fill it. Still, the exposed brickwork adds interest, plus the bar’s increasing popularity and friendly staff create a warm atmosphere. The owners – both wine experts – are on hand to direct you towards your preferred tipple, and drinks are served with a small charcuterie sharing plate – always a welcome touch. It’s reached via a cobbled courtyard which will hopefully come in handy for outdoor seating in summer.
