'Lord of the Flies' is a stage play adapted from the 1954 novel by William Golding, the Nobel Prize-winning English author. It is the troubling tale of a group of school boys stranded on an island, the tension caused by isolation, fear and power, and the dark descent into savagery. The setting is the result of a war and a plane crash that has forced a group of boys to cope with the human need for society and the physical need for survival. While safeguarding themselves from the external threat of the beast, the boys discover that the real danger is their own primitive instincts.
