Kuweni

A production of late Henry Jayasena, Kuweni adopts Greek theatre traditions, and has won awards at the National Drama festival in 1963. The original music composition was by H H Bandara. The drama narrates the ancient legend of Aryan Prince Vijaya and Princess Kuweni. The new production is by Samudra Jeewani while the music is by Gayanath Nalaka. With mesmerising performances, displaying the best of theatrical skills, this Sinhala drama is very popular amongst the local crowd.
