Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management

The former Ceylon Hotel School was established by an Act of Parliament in 1966 and was managed by the then Ceylon Tourist Board with the goal of providing the hospitality industry with trained manpower at mid- and top-management levels and through skills training. The conversion to SLITHM took place in 2005 under the Tourism Act and it continues to administer a similar range of courses as well as short-term training programmes for SMEs and other institutes.
