The Russian Centre in Colombo together with The Colombo Classical Ballet Circle present the ‘The stone flower’, a ballet in three acts, choreographed by Grigorovich. The stone flower is a 1946 Soviet fantasy film directed by Aleksander Ptushko, an adaptation of Pavel Bazhov’s story, which is based on Ural region Russian folklore. The act also incorporates elements from the stories ‘The Mistress of the Copper Mountain’ and ‘The Maser Craftsman’. Also to note the artists and orchestra of Bolshoi Theatre.
