Wewurukannala Maha Viharaya

The Viharaya houses the tallest statue of a seated Buddha in Sri Lanka at 160ft in height, and can be traced back to the time of King Rajadhi. The temple walls illustrate Lord Buddha’s life and his journey. Further features such as the temple museum and the hall depicting life-like statues of souls who suffer in hell for past wrong doings are not to be missed.
