1. Mount Fansipan, Vietnam
Time to get there: 3.5 hours by flight
Just a stone’s throw away from the vibrant city of Sa Pa, Vietnam’s crown jewel of trekking stands at a majestic 3,147 metres. Hence, crowned “the Roof of Indochina”. It’s renowned for its extremely steep climb, but the iconic peak promises a journey filled with breathtaking vistas and personal triumphs. The trail winds through dense, mist-covered forests and lush, terraced rice fields – an ace way to see all the effort that goes into rice cultivation. The climb on foot typically takes up to three days but there's a cable car to the peak as well as climbing trains if you're looking to skip ahead.
