Along Changi Road, lies a captivating private heritage museum built right smack in the front yard of a collector's home. David Wee, collector and founder of Wee's Collection, has been collecting old items of Singapore from a very young age. After accumalating almost 2,500 items, he spent three years building the seven sets that you'll be able to find at this museum – barber, provision shop, coffee shop, tailor shop, chinese medical hall, old Singapore street scene and the trishaw setting. This is in hopes people can come and relive the past in person.
In every nook and cranny of his space, a mix of nostalgic items and unfamiliar finds await. From a vintage mobile cinema, trishaws, an old school push cart stall, and even a scene of Singapore’s old streets recreated in the front yard. The museum's ambience evokes a sense of nostalgia, allowing visitors to relive cherished memories or, for the younger generations, experience a world they have only heard about in stories.
David rents out his collectibles, as well as his historical sets for photoshoots. To visit his museum for a personal tour, reach out to him on Instagram.
