Istana is opening its doors to members of the public in celebration of the Lunar New Year. As always, you can participate in activities like candle-making and Chinese calligraphy and enjoy multicultural dances and performances by student and community groups. Those interested in exploring the Istana grounds and main building can sign up for guided tours ($4 for Singaporeans and PRs, up to $20 for others) – there's even one led by National Parks Board volunteers that will bring you around to admire the lush flora and fauna in the Istana gardens.
Food trucks and food stalls will set up at the open house, so there's no going hungry. You can also buy limited-edition Istana souvenirs and President's Challenge merchandise. All proceeds from the open house entry fees, tours, and President's Challenge merchandise will go towards the charities supported by the President's Challenge.
