Time Out says

Be transported to the Land of the Rising Sun at this year’s Japan Rail Fair, an exciting showcase of all things Japan — food, travel, and culture. Organised by the Japan Rail Cafe to commemorate Japan’s Railway Day, the 5th edition of this highly-anticipated event takes place from October 11 to 13. It features 26 travel, lifestyle, and food and beverage brands – HINEMOS, Pokémon Center Singapore, and Lumine are some of the brands present. Make sure you don’t miss any because every booth will have stamps to collect for a chance to win exciting prizes like JR East train passes and even return flight tickets to Japan. Enjoy fun competitions, musical performances by Wind Ensemble Nippon Singapore, and a cheer performance by Albirex Singapore Cheer Dance School.

If you’ve always wanted to make Japan your next holiday destination, the numerous travel booths will inspire you to start planning for it. Join a lucky draw at AirJapan’s booth or head to Japan Airlines’s side to pick up exclusive merchandise. You’ll even get to try on the pilot and cabin crew uniforms during photo-taking opportunities with the airline’s fabulous cabin crews.

There’ll also be plenty of booths promoting various Japanese prefectures and cities, with food samples and information about what you can find at each stunning location – taste Akita prefecture’s specialty apples and sakes, or learn about Azumino City’s soothing natural landscapes and clear spring waters. Find out why Yamaguchi Prefecture is considered one of Japan’s best-kept secrets and when you can enjoy the winter wonderland in Hakuba Valley, renowned for its abundant snowfall and powder snow. Also, check out the castle town of Hirosaki City for the best time to enjoy its cherry blossoms and beautiful autumn landscape.

Of course, it’s not a Japanese fair without food. Sip on freshly brewed tea from The Japan Tea Industry Central Association or pick up some creamy Hokkaido milk-based products from Yotsuba Milk Products. Have yourself an icy cold beer from Kirin Ichiban or savour sweet strawberry treats from specially imported confectionary brand, Very Ruby Cut – some say it’s even better than real strawberries.
