Francophile or not, July 14 calls for a celebration of everything Français – and not that British band. Bastille Day marks the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille, the turning point of the French Revolution, which took place on July 14, 1789. The following year saw the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people, so it's safe to say that July 14 is a big deal. Paint the town red, white and blue with plenty of things to do that are tres bien.
