Think you've seen all of Singapore? This new attraction will just prove you wrong. Take to the skies and get a birds-eye view of Sentosa and its surrounds 35 metres up in the clouds.
Called SkyHelix, it is Singapore's highest open-air panoramic ride and will be the first carbon-neutral attraction on Sentosa. Spiralling up to the sky, you'll enjoy unparalleled 360 degree views of Sentosa and the developing Greater Southern Waterfront while dangling your feet in the air – a cocktail, beer or fruit juice in hand.
Each "flight" on the open-air gondola lasts 12 minutes, which includes 10 minutes at the peak. There, the gondola will slowly rotate. During the ascent, rotation and descent, guests can enjoy a cool beverage exclusively created for SkyHelix Sentosa by the team behind the acclaimed cocktails at Dusk Restaurant & Bar located at Mount Faber Peak. You can also choose from ready-to-drink cocktail at the open-air snack bar. Enjoy the sensation of flying with the wind in your hair for while sipping on your cocktail and capturing the photo of a lifetime for the gram.
The stunning structure is designed and constructed by French company Aerophile, known for its great Tethered Balloon. And you don't have to worry about safety, either. The gondola is completely powered by three electrical winches that are managed on-ground. Safety measures in place include an electronic safety mechanism to ensure guests are properly secured, emergency brakes, and power supply systems. There's a caveat, however: guests must meet a minimum height requirement of 1.05 metres to enjoy the ride.
As an added safety measure, an attraction host will accompany guests on the ride to ensure safety protocols are followed, while introducing the surrounding views and key landmarks as the gondola gently ascends.
SkyHelix Sentosa officially opens December 15. Tickets are now available for purchase on Mount Faber Leisure's website.
