Nearly 70 varieties of rose are now in full bloom at Gardens by the Bay. This year's Rose Romance floral display highlights the diverse beauty of roses alongside the unique culture and architecture of Türkiye.
From June 2 to 30, visit the Flower Dome to view impressive varieties of roses. One not to miss is the "black" roses of Türkiye, which have velvety petals of a deep and rich hue. Also look out for the Rosa 'Sunshine Babylon Eye', a variety with five petals surrounding a centre of striking pink and yellow – creating the illusion of a flower within a flower. Another unique variety is the Rosa 'Leonardo Da Vinci' – look out for this abundant bloom, which has over 90 deep pink petals.
The Greek and Roman influence in Türkiye is also repesented in recreations of the spa town of Hierapolis, which prospered during the Hellenistic period; and the Antonine Fountain from Sagalossos, once a thriving city of the Roman Empire. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pamukkale ("Cotton Castle" in English), travertine terraces which flow with crystal clear thermal spring water, and be transported to the Aegean coast, with its iconic Bodrum houses with white-washed exteriors and blue accents.
Türkiye produces more than half of the world's demand for rose oil. The southwestern province of Isparta is even known as "Rose City" for its cultivation of Damask roses. See this side of Türkiye in action at various displays, including a traditional rose distillery set-up and perfume storefront. For a limited time only, you can even purchase Rosense skincare products made from Isparta roses at Gardens by the Bay's retail shop.
