Ah, St. Patrick's Day. The one day a year where you can don your best clover-green outfit and drink as much as you want without the fear of being judged. But before you chuff down pints and drams, why not get a bit of education in before the festivities get in full swing?
Join Pernod Ricard's brand ambassador, Rhyse Borland, as he takes you through a Jameson Irish Whiskey masterclass at Oxwell & Co on March 16 from 3pm to 4pm. A former bartender at Gibson – the self-declared home of the Old Fashioned – Rhyse is best placed to talk about all things whiskey, from how to craft the perfect whiskey cocktail to its rich history and unique ingredients.
Here's a taster of what you can expect. Established in 1810 by John Jameson and his son, Jameson Irish Whiskey was originally one of the six main whiskeys produced in Dublin. Trace how it's since become the most popular Irish whiskey in the world and learn more about how the iconic whiskey is made.
Attendees get to sample the different components that come together to make Jameson Whiskey: New Make, the strong raw spirit that comes straight off the still, as well as bourbon-matured and sherry-matured whiskies that are aged in separate casks before they are combined by a master blender to make liquid gold.
Listen intently and you might bag some goodies to take home during the interactive fun and games segment. Plus, did we mention that all attendees get a complimentary tipple? Sip on the renowned Irish Coffee, a decadent concoction of coffee, cream, cinnamon, nutmeg and Jameson, of course.
You're in for a great time at this informative masterclass so register your interest before seats sell out. Tickets are priced at $15 and Time Out Singapore readers get an exclusive Jameson t-shirt if you sign up here.
