Two words: Ichiran ramen.
The famous Fukuoka ramen chain will be coming to Singapore as part of the Japan Food Matsuri event taking place at Takashimaya Square. And like most of its outlets in Japan and other parts of the world, be prepared to queue before you can enjoy a bowl of its tonkotsu-based ramen. Only 700 bowls, priced at $12, will be available daily. But before you head down and brave the queue, note that the Ichiran pop-up will be using instant ramen instead of fresh noodles. Boxes of its instant tonkoutsu ramen ($35 each) will also be sold, with only 200 boxes available daily.
Beyond the famous ramen chain, the event will also bring together some 45 different vendors selling a variety of treats from across Japan. Look forward to premium cuts of Wagyu beef, fresh produce air-flown from Japan, and hand-crafted sushi. Popular dessert chain Zaku Zaku will also come together with cheese tart specialist Bake for a special pop-up, selling sweet treats like the matcha cheese tart ($3.90) and Zaku Zaku’s signature soft serve ($6).
