Istana Chinese New Year Open House

The gates of the grand Istana open to the public only on certain special occasions, including Chinese New Year. This year’s Istana Open House falls on February 2, 2025, with 1-hour walking tours starting at the Main Gate and through the Villa, Japanese Garden and Ceremonial Plaza. Then, head over to the Swan Pond and play a game of I Spy with your family – two white mute swans reside at this pond.
