Halloween Horror Nights 12

Time Out says

It’s spooky season so you know what that means – it’s time to make your way to the gates of hell at Universal Studios Singapore for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Scream your way out of four all-new nightmare-inducing haunted houses, including one inspired by the popular South Korean Netflix apocalyptic horror series, Sweet Home.

Asian-inspired horror takes centre stage this year, with scenes from the ancient Qing Dynasty to a monster-infested version of present-day South Korea. One haunted house you cannot skip is modelled on key locations featured in Sweet Home – visit Cha Hyun-su’s apartment and the Green Home apartment complex’s basement and watch as the show’s terrifyingly grotesque monsters come to life before your eyes. Then head to ‘Singapore’s Most Haunted: The Killings’ and enter one of Singapore’s most haunted houses – filled with the restless spirits of countless victims and the evil souls that killed them.

An immersive three-dimensional horror experience awaits you at ‘Cursed Scrolls: Dynasty of Darkness’. You’ll have to survive against the fearsome entities of the ancient scrolls conjured by The Scrollmaster, a possessed Qing Dynasty scholar.

Fans of Jackson Wang will also be glad to know that he has also had a hand to play in this year’s scare fest. From his label, Team Wang Design, comes 'Under the Castle', based on its new comic book series by the same name. Expect an immersive and richly detailed experience that will have you navigating a cursed castle filled with dark secrets and entrapped villagers. Even if you manage to escape, you’ll still have to survive three terrifying scare zones: Vampire Alley, full of the preying undead, The Lost Kampung, and its vengeful spirits, as well as Nether-Land, a voodoo-cursed hypnotic rave zone.

When you need a break from the scares, catch shows like Dark Dreams, a twisted story of the Dream Reaper – who’s just as menacing as he sounds. Or catch Night Terrors, a horrifying projection mapping show of Asian phantoms from traditional folklore. Then end the night with a dance alongside the undead and creepy giant puppets at Ocu.lar’s Rave.

And keep your eyes peeled for a new spine-chilling speakeasy experience like no other. The elusive Viper Lounge, owned by a vampire clan known as The Elders, lies somewhere on the park grounds. Find it and you’ll be rewarded with a range of deliciously devilish canapés and drinks. Ready to get scared? Grab your tickets and find out more here
