More often than not, art transforms the ordinary into thoughtful masterpieces. At new exhibition Global Landscapes Singapore, it’s no different – it’s an art series that’s the brainchild of award-winning artist Ella Spira MBE. Impressively, she’s also a Grammy-nominated composer and co-founder of production company Sisters Grimm.
Spira has travelled to all far-flung corners of the world, and Global Landscapes Singapore marks the newest addition to this series. It’s done through a series of paintings and charcoals, presenting our own little red dot in a new light – emphasis placed on Singapore as an urban landscape while also having bursts of greenery and nature. A photo series called The Inner Landscapes of Ella by local photographer Rebecca Toh will also be on display, while a score composed by Spira herself will also be playing.
Global Landscapes Singapore by Ella Spira MBE will open on November 3 at Raffles Hotel Arcade for a private event, and is open to the public for free on November 4 (12-7pm) and November 5 (12-5pm).
