It’s called ‘Glamboyant’, an obvious mashup between glamorous and flamboyant – and that’s exactly what it is at this 10-day Kampong Gelam festival leading up to the Singapore Grand Prix. From September 23 to October 2, you’ll find a lineup of fun activities and pop-ups celebrating the bustling neighbourhood of Kampong Gelam.
It’ll be held across five main areas: Aliwal Street Carpark, Baghdad Street, Haji Lane, Sultan Gate, and Sultan Gate Park. But what we’re most excited about is the F&B area that’s been set up over at Aliwal Street Carpark, with more than 15 vendors – The Satayman and Picanhas’ are just some you could look forward to. You can also catch outdoor cinema screenings of popular films like Jumanji The Next Level and The Matrix, along with family-friendly movies like The Karate Kid and Encanto.
Leading up to the F1 weekend, on September 27 and 28, there’ll also be a pop-up F1 truck that comes with a full-fledged racing simulator and arcade table games. The Sultan Gate Park outdoors area will also have a BMX street battle, so by all means, head down to watch street riders perform their best freestyle bike tricks.
