In the second edition of Christmas With Our Trees, Millenia Walk shows us how to celebrate the festive season while going green at the same time. Instead of shopping for faux decorations, visitors can uncover innovative ways to craft festive displays while supporting local communities.
Learning from the best, this year’s edition invites master floral specialist Boo Chih Min, local conservationist Dr Chua Siew Chin, GreenSG Collab, as well as environmentalists Woo Qiyun and Elliot James Ong to tell us more about our local trees.
Some of the programmes include The Millenia Walk Seed Tree, a 7-metre-tall installation celebrating our native plant species, designed in collaboration with Timber Actually and Charlotte Puxley Flowers. Visitors can also embark on The Neighbourhood Tree Trail, a short exploration around Millenia Walk to explore different installations by brands and environmental experts to learn more about sustainability and our homegrown trees. Some of the stops include showcases by Pass It On, Dawn Ang and more.
There will be workshops as well – urban farming community City Sprouts will be giving a 90-minute workshop on edible plants and caring for herbs at home. This includes a cutting swap session. Or if wood-upcycling interests you, then participate in Off-Cuts’ workshop where you’ll get to design and take home a functional object with upcycled wood.
Here's more reason to visit, there will be attractive gift-with-purchase deals up for grabs as well as live music performances by Vetta Quartet on selected days.
