Where else to celebrate Chinese New Year but Chinatown? Already all decked out with dragon dioramas and festive decorations, which will be on display until March 9, the district has more in store. Join the countdown party at Kreta Ayer Square on Chinese New Year's Eve to bask in the glow of spectacular fireworks. From now to February 9, you can also shop for festive decorations and goodies at two Festive Fairs – one at the open space in front of People’s Park Complex and another at China Street Stalls. Adding to the CNY cheer are weekend stage shows (January 27 to 28, February 3 to 4) at Kreta Ayer Square and even a lion dance competition (January 27 to 28, $10) at Kreta Ayer People’s Theatre.
