Looking for more things to do at home? Get kitted out in your best detective gear for a multi-platform, interactive murder mystery that combines digital theatre and live interrogations with online case files and investigations.
Helmed by The Theatre Practice in collaboration with Hotel Soloha, The Bride Always Knocks Twice – Killer Secrets unravels in four parts where participants are tasked to expose the guilty party. Whoever cracks the case gets to enter a draw for a chance to win attractive prizes, including the grand prize of $1,000 cash plus a three-day-two-night stay at the buzzy Hotel Soloha.
The play takes across four chapters: Conflicts, Lies, Crime Scene and Revelations. You'll meet seven women from seven different eras who call each other sister – until one of them is found murdered. As buried secrets and hidden grudges rise to the surface, who is guilty? There's only one way to find out.
The Bride Always Knocks Twice marks The Theatre Practice's most ambitious work to date, blending online and offline storytelling into a hybrid format. After all, the same team behind promenade theatre experience Four Horse Road and the 55-hour live stream Practice 55 is no stranger to creating large scale, boundary-pushing works.
Spearheading the team is Practice's Artistic Director, award-winning theatre director, lighting and set designer and independent filmmaker Kuo Jian Hong. Jian Hong is joined by veteran theatre playwrights Jonathan Lim and Liu Xiaoyi, and film stalwarts like filmmaker and producer Kat Goh, art director James Page and film score producer Joe Ng.
