Whether you're a mother, raised by a strong woman or are just in awe of the strength of mothers around the world, this one's for you. TWorks Singapore is premiering its radio play of The Book of Mothers as part of its Festival of Women: N.O.W – available exclusively online for four days only.
Written by Eleanor Tan, directed by Edith Podesta and featuring sound design by Inch Chua, The Book of Mothers talk about the difficult choices women face with regards to career and motherhood. The play, performed by Koh Wan Ching and Karen Tan, explores the myths surrounding motherhood through the eyes of Louise. The protagonist's complicated relationship with her mother leaves her ambivalent about her own pregnancy, and fearful for the loss of her own life as it used to be.
Mark your calendars and join the launch and listening party at 7.30 pm on July 30 at TWorks’s Facebook page. The live streaming will be followed by a live conversation with the creatives and cast of The Book of Mothers. If you can't make it for the Listen Party though, the radio play will be available on SoundCloud until August 2.
