While Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) hits the pause button on Shakespeare in the Park this year, the local theatre company is bringing another set of Shakespeare goodness. Experience theatre through a screen instead of on stage as SRT presents screenings of The Bard's iconic plays – The Merchant of Venice (June 12), Hamlet (June 13), and Othello (June 14) – all produced and performed by the internationally renowned Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).
Follow The Merchant of Venice as he is demanded by a Jewish moneylender to offer a pound of his flesh if he fails to repay the loan. In Hamlet, the ghost of a father sends his living son to avenge his death. While Othello is about a general employed by the Venetian state who secretly ties the knot with the daughter of the senator.
