The titular character was a renowned Buddhist monk and scholar whose claim to fame is propagating Buddhism throughout China. The play tells the story of Kumarajiva’s life and legacy, his monkhood and how he came to be one of the most important figures in Buddhist history. Staged in Mandarin with English surtitles.
