If you spent your childhood falling asleep to Brothers Grimm fairytales, then you'll love Into The Woods, a delightful Broadway musical mash-up of these familiar childhood stories. Local theatre company Pangdemonium will bring the script by James Lapine to life, set to music and lyrics by legendary American creator Stephen Sondheim.
Classic fairytales like Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood get a fresh twist in Into the Woods. Enter a universe where chaos has been unleashed by the Witch, the Wolf, the Giant and the Stepmother. It's up to Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack (down from his beanstalk), and the Baker to sidestep nefarious Daydreams, Wishes, and Desires and save the innocent people of the kingdom.
These fairytales may be twisted, but their message is as wholesome as it gets. Expect heartwarming moments of love, friendship, and family, even against a backdrop involving larger clashes of life, death, good, and evil.
Into The Woods stars local talents like Benjamin Chow, Chloe E-Shyan Chua, Inch Chua, and Candice de Rozario. The show runs from October 27 to November 12 – get your tickets here.
