The one-night-only performance brings together the best of Japanese theatre: Himiko is the brainchild of kabuki actor Fukusuke Nakamura, composer Yoshihiro Kanno, violinist Yasuko Otani and shamisen player Mojibei Tokiwazu. Melding aesthetics from the East and the West, and traditional and classic art forms, Himiko retells the Japanese myth of the life, death and resurrection of the enigmatic goddess of the sun. The performance features Japanese and Singaporean musicians, as well as a shomyo chorus of 16 Buddhist monks. In Japanese with English surtitles.
