Imagine the world's worst first day at work, in the midst of an ongoing pandemic, at that. Watch it all unfold during Contract, a fast-paced 70-minute original play inspired by true events. Theatre troupe The Haque Collective (THC) presents the play which will be performed live over a series of Zoom calls for three days only.
The immersive play follows Jane, a fresh hire at a multinational company, as she stumbles into the world’s worst first day at work over a night of Zoom meetings. Just three hours into her new job, Jane has a tough choice to make: destroy her family and her future or become an accomplice to mask murder?
Suspenseful, witty and ridiculously fit for the strange times we're living in, Contract is a play you shouldn't miss this December.
"Set to be staged just two weeks before Christmas, Contract is a fantastic way to support the arts in Singapore with a unique pre-holiday event," says THC in a press release. "In a year where live theatre has been wrecked by the pandemic, here’s a way to gather in groups safely in the comfort of your own home."
The play will be performed at 8pm on December 10; 8pm and 10.30pm on December 11; and 5pm, 8pm, and 10.30pm on Saturday. Tickets are $20, which includes access to the online play and a virtual goodie bag. Funds raised from the show will go towards building THC's 2021 season.
