Time Out says

Sing’theatre presents Cabaret, an award-winning musical set in 1931 Berlin – a seemingly peaceful time, albeit with unknown threats lurking in the shadows.

This captivating musical revolves around the love story of American author Cliff Bradshaw (Vester Ng) and English vocalist Sally Bowles (Kimberly Chan). Their romance takes an unfortunate turn as Nazism rises to power and the atmosphere in Berlin evolves into one of uncertainty, acting as a reminder of the dangers of facism and the importance of championing liberty and human rights.

Prepare to be mesmerised by the extravagant theatre sets and outrageous costumes that will instantly whisk you away to the Kit Kat Club – the sensual nightclub of Berlin where an ostentatious Emcee (Dwayne Lau) takes the stage for its nightly entertainment. Featuring unforgettable tracks like Willkommen, Cabaret, Don’t Tell Mama and Two Ladies

So, life is disappointing? Forget it! In here, life is beautiful! Leave your troubles outside! And welcome to the “Kit Kat Club.

The musical is directed by esteemed Singaporean actor Hossan Leong and choreographed by performer Lisa Keegan, starring a cast of 18 talented performers and an 8-piece live band.

Since its first debut in 1966, the musical has run for over a thousand performances and clinched several awards, notably the winning title of the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical and eight Tony Awards. With music by American composer John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and the Cabaret book written by Joe Masteroff based on the stories of Christopher Isherwood’s novel Goodbye to Berlin, Cabaret is a captivating theatrical experience not to be missed.
