Playwright Myle Yan Tay strikes again with another thought-provoking play. Directed by Huzir Sulaiman, Brown Boys Don't Tell Jokes invites the audience to take a close, hard look at friendship, race, and masculinity in Singapore. It follows five friends reuniting after several years and realising the very things that hold them together are rose-tinted memories. They are then forced to confront the boys they once were, and the men they currently are and want to be. The play explores the tensions of male friendship with sharp wit, clever humour and searching questions. Prepare to leave the theatre wanting to check in with your buds.
