A fun alternative to getting your cardio fix? Rebounding. Far from simply jumping on trampolines, rebounding is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that burns fat, strengthens the core and boost cardio without straining your joints. Think bouncing like a kid on the bed but in the name of fitness. If this sounds like your jam, get ready to do some jumping jacks, frog leaps and split jumps to the beat of a killer music playlist on a mini-trampoline (otherwise known as a rebounder).

Rebounding is no child’s play, as regular members of Bbounce will tell you. This workout uses rebounders that will have you bouncing hard, fast and high along to heart-thumping music throughout the session ($35). You’re guaranteed to leave the studio sweaty, achy and with an endorphin rush similar to what you’ll experience with conventional cardiovascular exercises like running and skipping – minus the impact on your joints.

Hit pause on play and get down to business with Bounce's rebound exercise programmes. The trampoline park offers three classes with different levels of intensity and focus – ABT (abs, butt and thighs), Basic and Combat. Each class ($25) will see you sweat out to heart-pumping cardio exercises for 45 minutes. And it's all worth it – the workout helps strengthen your core and improve your muscle tone.

Conveniently camped out in the CBD, Kulture takes fitness junkies from the boardroom to the bounce studio with its high intensity, rhythm-based trampoline workout experience ($130 for four sessions). Besides the usual suspect – the trampoline – each workout combines aerobic and anaerobic elements, focusing mainly on cardio. It's a fun alternative for anyone looking to shed some kilos while strengthening and conditioning the body. Give your usual jumping a spin with hybrid classes like the ballet-inspired Bounce Barre and Muay Thai and HIIT combo Bounce Box Burn.

Boogie Bounce Xtreme

See various ActiveSG sports centres transform into boogie wonderlands with the Boogie Bounce Xtreme ($144 for eight sessions). Make like Van Halen and jump to the beat of chart-topping hits on a trampoline complete with a T-bar. Each 55-minute workout will have you jumping from side-to-side and to-and-fro before progressing to exercises like jumping jacks, frog leaps, split jumps and stomping. That's not all – the workout wraps up with pilates and balancing exercises too.

BeatX Studio
BeatX Studio

Complete with LED light displays and energetic club bangers, BeatX comes close to a fitness nightclub. Stepping into its dim-lit studio decked with rebounders for the first time may seem intimidating, so go easy with BeatX Lite ($35 per class) where the beginner class takes you through a fun choreography. Once you've mastered the basics, level up with cardio-based BeatX Max or the kickboxing hybrid BeatX Box (Rebounding). For hardcore jumpers, take on the BeatX Core (Rebounding) or the Hybrid Rebounding – a combination of cardio, aerobic and anaerobic, strength training and muscle sculpting.
