HYFA
HYFA

With two full-sized regulation fields, two medium-sized pitches for seven-a-side games and a whopping eight other cages for five-a-side matches, the 300,000 square feet space works both as HYFA’s training grounds, as well as for their kids programme and pitches for public bookings. If you can’t secure a booking elsewhere, you’re more than likely to get one here, and at a cheaper rate than the others on this list – off-peak slots start at $50 an hour in the five-a-side courts, and peak at $86 for per hour session after 6pm.

Stadio @ Rooftop
Stadio @ Rooftop

Shoot for the skies – Stadio@Rooftop is Singapore’s first rooftop pitch perched atop Tanjong Pagar’s Amara Hotel. Once the grounds for the hotel’s tennis court, the rooftop’s rebirth makes it a more democratic space, allowing up to ten players to experience scoring goals at a higher altitude than other pitches locally. Slightly pricier than the competition, it’s a boon for the CBD weekend warrior looking to get a nearby weekday fix with their colleagues after work. Since Stadio holds the keys to the pitch at the rooftop, it can also be booked past its regular opening hours with prior notice, so night owls, take note.

Uber Sports
Uber Sports

Football, otherwise known as our unofficial national sport, is played in many open fields and – dare we say it – void decks. But if you don’t have 11 players to form a team, futsal’s the next best thing. Uber Sports offers sheltered artificial turf pitches, enclosed within safety nettings, for five- and seven-a-side games to be played. The pitches are even equipped with sound systems so you can show off your mad skills to upbeat music and pretend you’re in a YouTube video. Knowing our penchant for midnight haunts, Uber Sports operates ’til 2am, so it’s never too late for a quick match. It also runs a 24-hour futsal facility in ORTO.

  • Yishun
This multi-recreational centre located in Yishun spans the size of about seven football fields. Take the family there for a day out as the place is opened 24/7. Fuel up first at the six eateries on-site – Taste Garden, Mookata, Aroy Jing Jing, Long Jiang Chinos, SGMY and Quench! Bistro and Bar – before heading off to enjoy the facilities. The little ones can try their hand at longkang fishing or prawning. There's also Katapult Trampoline Park for them to bounce around. Older teens and adults can play futsal at Ubersports, engage in a paintball battle at Red Dynasty Paintball Park or go fishing at Fishing Paradise @ ORTO. The park also has various open spaces such as The Lakehouse, The Stage, The Promenade and BBQ Pavilion that the public can book for their events.
