cheak

Stylish fits with a hint of cheek

Say hello to cheak, formerly butter., that's now a brand under local fashion and lifestyle label Love, Bonito. The marriage of these two powerhouses can only mean one thing – functional activewear that's more stylish than ever. cheak's apparel come in two categories: Basecore, a more supportive line meant for high intensity workouts, and BaseFlex, made from buttery soft material that meant for those slower yoga days. In keeping with the rebrand, cheak's apparel comes in 13 cheeky colours to suit warm to cool skin tones – such as dreamy Moon and sexy Potion – as well as eight sizes from XXS to XXL to suit every body shape. We're loving the fun necklines and bra straps too.

When form meets function

Here's a homegrown activewear brand that both you and your bae can shop at. Kydra's first product (which is also their best-seller) is a pair of men's gym shorts that has undergone three versions and tweaked to perfection. The 2-in-1 flex shorts ($68) comes with built-in breathable tights (so you can go commando without fear) and is made with quick-drying water-repellent stretchable fabric – to top it off, its sleek clean cut shape easily passes off as casual shorts for brunch dates or drinks. There's a women's version of the flex shorts ($58) but we really like the Kara pocket leggings ($72) which comes with – gasp – deep pockets to fit loose change, your phone and more. It'll make you wonder why more tights don't come with pockets. Pair it with the Thalia flex bra ($46) and you've got a winning combo.

Tough Cookie Apparel

From pole to brunch

The designs put out by Tough Cookie Apparel are anything but typical. Straps feature heavily in its range of sports bras, bottoms and tanks, which are suitable for pole dancing, aerial exercises, dance, yoga and even swimming. Tough Cookie’s most popular item is the Tyra bottom ($39), an eye-catching pole/bikini bottom that features a sexy garter strap on one leg. Don’t restrict the activewear to just the dance studio, though. These sports bras double up as leisure wear for brunch or date nights – just pair them with maxi skirts or high-waisted pants.
