This relatively new candle brand produces fragrances that's deeply rooted in the founders' memories of home. Aditi, Manasa, Lathika and Adithya all have been kept apart from their extended family during the pandemic lockdown, spurring them to create their very own candles based on specific memories and feelings related to South Asia. Besides the five distinct candle fragrances – Alamari, Malgova, Beeda, Lalbagh and Thillana – they also work with the India-based attar maker Boond Fragrances to produce incense sticks, and with Denmark-based design studio Christian+Jade on stylish incense holders. Breathe Essentials Co was started by Charlene Koh, a cancer survivor, and also an entrepreneur and co-founder of dating app Paktor. During her journey battling breast cancer in 2019, she began cultivating an interest in aromatherapy. Now cancer-free and stronger than ever, she aims to inspire others through her experience and started the brand.
