The choice venue for fashion shows and roadshows, this massive red granite building with two towers (A and B) is the lifeblood of Orchard Road, drawing throngs of locals and tourists. It’s also known as Takashimaya Shopping Centre (aka Taka) after anchor tenant Takashimaya department store. It contains more than 130 shops, including Japanese giants Kinokuniya (books) and Best Denki (electronics), and over 30 food and drink outlets (from Indonesian to Korean). A branch of the National Library offers tomes for browsing, and a quiet café for rejuvenation.
