New shops to check out in October

If you like everything vintage and old-world, Singapore Trading Post have got a great collection of old timey furniture. Inspired by the tradition of the East India Trading Company, the founders Jo Harrison and Rob Pendergrast have carefully sourced the items from places that inspire them around Southeast Asia.   

A bookstore, event and café space all in one, The Moon is a whimsical space that brings you into the library of your favourite chronicles with a wide variety of genres from modern literature to illustrated cooking books and thought-provoking non fiction reads for you to browse through. With its warm lighting, wood furniture and comfy plush cushions sprawled across the reading room on the third floor, The Moon is the newest and coolest spot for an afternoon read with a cup of coffee in hand.

Settling into the swish neighbourhood of Ann Siang Hill just fine, White Label Records is a hip record store by day and bar by night. The stylish space is also the perfect hangout for music enthusiasts to kick back and relax over some food and drinks, browse through an endless list of records, catch DJs and live acts.

Even the suburbs deserve a Sephora! At the newly-opened Sephora store in Causeway Point, you can find beauty favourites like Fenty Beauty, Kat Von D, Urban Decay and more. Also alongside the icons, shop cult brands like superfood skincare line Sunday Riley, renowned hair products by Ouai, fuss-free makeup by Nudestix and not forgetting the highly lauded in-house Sephora brand itself.

Hate the bustling crowds at pop-up shopping events? Come and discover some of the best, under-the-radar finds all in the private sanctuary of Le Salon by Ling. The sustainable boutique carries pieces from established brands like Stella McCartney, to cult labels like Rixo. Together with five other local brands, they'll be setting up store from October 8 to 13 for a new line up of up-and-coming designers and artisans.
