Time Out says

If you’re finding the namesake familiar like you’ve heard it on a wild bender somewhere, you probably did. Inspired by the Oktoberfest drinking song “Zicke Zacke, Hoi Hoi Hoi!” that is commonly butchered by many, the owners of Ziggy Zaggy took this catchy riff and interpreted it as their own.

Located in the forgotten sanctuary of Kampong Bugis, this gastropub serves up soul-comforting American grub with over 18 taps of international craft beers. The indoor space sports a cosy punk rock vibe with unusual custom furniture that’s perfect for groups while the quiet outdoor veranda overlooks the sunset caters to couples that wish for a little privacy.

Food here is an inspired cumulation of the husband-and-wife duo’s travels over the United States to satiate their passion and thirst for craft beers which ultimately led them to fall head over heels with the rich cuisine over yonder. Their favourite? Divine Southern biscuits and gravy that they knew they had to serve in Singapore when they got back.

Think rich, flaky buttery biscuits soaked in an addictive pork sausage gravy topped with a liberal slab of crunchy juicy fried chicken. If that isn’t proper comfort food, we don’t know what else is. Can’t miss out on the decadent special Ziggy Zaggy burger either, expect luscious foie gras, smoky bacon, cheddar cheese and a runny fried egg atop a wagyu beef patty, all sandwiched between soft buttered buns.

But if you like your meats cavemen style, you have to try the short ribs. Slow-braised with the bone in with a smoky tangy in-house marinade, this fork-tender slab will have you scraping every inch of meat of the bone. An absolute value for money dish that is good for sharing but we won’t judge if you’re thinking of treating yourself.

Serving up other classics such as a craft beer-battered fish and chips and an all-American cheeseburger, the food here seeks to soothe every craving with great craft beer pairings. While you’re at it, chat up the friendly owners as they are more than happy to share about beer pairings that complement your food and trust us, they've got some darn delicious craft beers to recommend.
