A new seafood establishment at One Fullerton, The Pelican has taken over the space occupied formerly by marine-themed restaurant Pierside Kitchen & Bar. The concept is still pretty much the same – an alfresco setting with a nautical vibe – although it looks a bit warmer and cosier, with bare light bulbs and booth seats, compared to Pierside’s clean, modern lines. Former Ku De Ta chef Dan Segall helms the new menu, with offerings such as the skate wing chop ($32), linecut swordfish steak ($36) and the requisite seafood platter, dubbed The Pelican Platter ($99, serves up to two or three people). Wash everything down with their mojitos ($16).
Plus, it transforms into The Pelican Supperclub every Friday from 10pm, so you get to slip into partying mode with drinks galore and dazzling lights. MatteBlacc Collective will be on decks to bang out the beats of neo soul, disco, funk and house at the upper deck DJ console.
