The Long Weekend Pizza

Time Out says

There’s no shortage of places to get good pizza in Singapore. Just from the snaking queues at the newly-opened Casa Vostra in Raffles City, it’s clear that everyone loves a good Italian pie. Skip the line and support local instead at The Long Weekend Pizza, a humble, wood-fired, weekend-only pizzeria. The coolest part? This home-based business bakes its fresh pizzas right at the gates of a house along Saint Patrick’s Road – rather similar to Kopi Khoo’s modus operandi. Despite having only seven options on its menu, The Long Weekend Pizza has a loyal fan base, with pre-orders occasionally closing due to its overwhelming popularity. This affordable pizza made from within the community is simple but well done, with each 12-inch pie serving one to two people. Carnivores must try the bestseller, Meat Mania ($23), which is topped with ground beef, sausages, and pepperoni with bacon. The Long Weekend also offers meatless options, like classic Margherita ($17), veggie-packed Ratatouille ($20), and Mushroom and Truffle Oil ($20). The latter is a fan-favourite for its pungent truffle aroma and comes on a cream base instead of tomato. Whatever the flavour, you’ll be getting a pizza that’s perfectly charred and dotted with leopard spots distinctive of good pizza. Though there isn’t a dining area, you’ll want to try a fresh slice – its charred crust comes with a tender bite that you must savour while its hot.To place an order, just send it via Whatsapp to +65 8913 0331 in the week, and collect it on the weekend. The chefs will do their best to have your order ready just in time for pick-up, so you won’t have to wait by the road for long. Not that it’ll be boring – you can watch the pizzas being cooked from scratch right before your eyes. And if you’re looking for places to scarf down that pie, check out this list of the best picnic spots in Singapore.
