Up on the third floor if Shaw Centre, Tenjin dishes up piping hot tempura rice bowls piled high with deep-fried seafood and vegetables atop Hoshi-Jirushi rice from the Ibaraki prefecture. The Toku-Jo Bowl ($26.80) comes with all the works: anago, crab leg, prawn and fish, lightly batted and fried till pale golden alongside tempura vegetables and a Freedom Range egg. If that’s too decadent for you there’s the basic Jo Bowl ($17.80), which comes with prawn and vegetable tempura or the vegetarian-friendly Yasai Bowl ($13.80) that comprises five different kinds of vegetable tempura.
