The first local outpost of artisanal bakery Sugar Toast. What sets these thick slices of bread apart from the rest is its handmade dough – prep work begins as early as 6am. Imported flour from Japan is first mixed with milk and water, and the mixture is then folded and pounded repeatedly to yield a soft, fluffy loaf. The milky, buttery notes are best sampled in the original toast ($6.90), but creations like the purple sweet potato ($7.90) and white chocolate matcha toast ($7.90) are also worth a try. Also stunning is the rainbow cranberry toast ($7.90), a brightly hued creation twirled with three of the bakery’s most popular flavours: original, matcha, and dragonfruit.
