On the surface, Spectre takes shape as a vintage apothecary restaurant and cocktail bar. But they are also big on raising awareness about mental well-being — a core experience at Spectre involves writing down your concerns on a piece of paper before burning it away. Helmed by multi-disciplinary artist and MasterChef Singapore finalist Inch Chua with SIA cabin-crew-turned-mixologist Andrew Pang, the dynamic duo also holds mindful workshops like art jamming, wine tasting and whisky masterclasses at the bar.
While the kitchen seeks to fill the stomach with unique twists on Southeast Asian comfort food, the bar attempts to nourish the soul with cocktails designed with talk therapy techniques in mind. On the menu, you'll find craft beverages split into herbal, umami, citrus and spice categories. Under the herbal section is Stay Jung ($25) — a rum concoction infused with bitters, citrus notes and ginseng nectar, inspired by the psychologist Carl Jung. And under the umami section, sip on a glass of Tea & Sympathy ($20), a pleasant, soothing blend of sauvignon blanc, green tea, and a smidge of honey.
